According to old Icelandic folklore and tales, elves exist. Many of us Icelanders still believe it to be true. I will tell you various stories about elves in Iceland. Stories that have lived for many centuries and also stories that my friend and her mother have told me of elves that live in their backyard. I live on Álfhólsvegur and the street name literally translates to Elf Hill Road We will talk about these lovely creatures and a part of the visit is a short walk to Álfhóll (see picture above)- home of the elves and you will discover why there is a steep curve in an otherwise ruler-straight street!
